Reflection, research, and education! What do I mean by that?
If you are thinking of starting an online business, you first need to reflect on what kind of product or service you wish to promote, what problem that product or service will solve, and for whom (ie, who is your target audience?).
Then, you need to research the market to see if there is a demand for your offer, or if there is a gap in the market your offer will fill.
Lastly, if you are starting an online business as a complete beginner, investing in quality education of digital marketing skills is key. Though you could research and learn on your own for free, taking a course from an expert will save you so much time in the long run.

This is the million dollar question! The answer to this is personal for everyone based on their own circumstances, but here is the practical advice I like to give:
Block your time accordingly (dedicated time for your business, household tasks, family time & self care), keep the commitments you make to yourself and your business, and respect the boundaries you set.
It is all too easy to shuffle your own priorities to the bottom of the deck when your kids need a snack (or a referee in my case), or the laundry needs turning over, or any of the other endless tasks and responsibilities required to keeping a house and family going. But if you don't draw a line in the sand around the time you need for all of your commitments equally, they all end up suffering in one way or another.
Digital marketing encompasses all the ways in which you can promote a product (physical or digital) or service (in-person or virtually) for sale online.
This could be through organic (free) traffic generated through social media posts, search engines etc, or through paid traffic (ads).Examples include: short-form content (Reels, TikToks, YouTube Shorts), long-form content (podcasts, YouTube), blog posts, LinkedIn posts, Facebook groups, Pinterest Pins, email marketing, network marketing etc.

When thinking of automating your business, you want to focus on emails and SMS, as well as social media automation (both for content and engagement) to start.
